Blog research and privacy

Reader surveys
Our optional surveys help us understand travel-planning problems and decide which guides or tools to develop. We collect the answers you submit, the article and survey version, and the submission date. Answers are stored privately in GuideGo’s Cloudflare database and are not published or sent to advertising services.
You can answer without an account or email address. Please do not include names, booking references, payment details or other sensitive information in free-text answers. Closing the page before submission discards your answers.
If you select research follow-up, we ask for your email and explicit agreement to contact you about that selection. This is not a newsletter subscription, a purchase or a guarantee of a trip review. No follow-up emails are sent automatically by the survey.
Survey records, including contact details, are removed after 180 days. To withdraw contact permission or request deletion, email support@guidego.app. If you submitted without email, include the article, approximate submission date and enough of your answer to help us locate it; we may be unable to identify a submission otherwise.
Optional blog analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics,” we record page views, reading milestones, guide and topic clicks, survey interactions, submission success or failure, and clicks leading to GuideGo. We record the blog path, a broad referral category and a random identifier held in memory for the current browser page session. It resets on a full page reload. These are not unique-person counts.
We do not put survey answers, email addresses, full referrer URLs, query strings or booking information into these events. We do not load advertising tags on the blog. Event records are removed after 90 days.
Use Privacy choices at the bottom of any blog page to change your choice. Declining does not affect reading or submitting a survey. We also respect a browser’s Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. A local preference stores your analytics choice; it is not a visitor identifier. Withdrawal stops new events but does not automatically identify or remove earlier anonymous events.
Cloudflare processes requests to deliver and protect the site. IP addresses may be used transiently for request rate limiting; our research database does not store them. Hosting security and operational logs are separate from the optional research events.
For the rest of the service, see the GuideGo privacy policy.
